The Ianthe scarf is crafted from textural silk devore in a reimagining of an archival Liberty artwork – a life-long modern icon to brighten up daily dressing.
Whether looped around your neck or twisted through the handles of a tote, a Liberty silk scarf is a heroine of versatile styling. This scarf features a luxurious interpretation of Ianthe – originally a wallpaper design by a French artist from 1902, Ianthe is a highly stylized example of Art Nouveau. Reworked in 2012 to emphasize the design’s rich, decorative nature, Ianthe was first printed as a Liberty dress fabric in 1967. This contemporary interpretation has been printed in Italy onto an expertly-woven silk twill, using innovative technologies alongside specialist finishing techniques.
